KDIGO Staging Criteria
Stage 1: Cr ×1.5–1.9 from baseline (within 7 days) OR rise ≥26.5 µmol/L in 48h
Stage 2: Cr ×2.0–2.9 from baseline
Stage 3: Cr ×3.0 from baseline OR ≥353.6 µmol/L OR RRT initiated
When to use
- Any hospitalised patient with rising creatinine or oliguria
- Post-operative patients, contrast-exposed, septic patients
- Stage 2–3: nephrology review, stop nephrotoxins, optimise fluid balance
- Stage 3: consider RRT — refer to ICU/nephrology urgently
